Oily skin is known as seborrhea and is caused by excess oil produced in the pores. Fluctuating hormone levels increase the amount of sebum that gets funneled thru pores. Combine that with dead skin, bacteria and grime that accumulates in the pores and pimples, blackheads and other blemishes begin.


Tip: Salicylic acid helps combat pimples and blackheads. A beta hydroxy acid, its job is to remove dead skin cells, bacteria and daily grime, exfoliate skin to help unclog pores and keep them clean. For tweens, .4-.5% is just enough to cleanse without being too harsh.
